12 Ways of Giving, Day 10 –- All the World’s a Stage

When not leading the art department at WP,  Vice President and Creative Director Ralph Frisina dedicates his time to helping develop the region’s cultural scene —namely, through his work with the Berkshire Theatre Group.

The Colonial Theatre, constructed in 1903, has long been a staple in the cultural world, hosting a variety of music, theatrical, and arts events. Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, established in 1928, is one of the oldest professional regional theatres in the country. Together, the pair forms a performing arts powerhouse known as the Berkshire Theatre Group. The group shares core philosophies that have been the backbone of the Berkshire arts scene for years, and together, brings creative and educational performances and events to the greater Berkshires region.

Ralph, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Colonial Theatre, believes in the creative and performing arts, and often spends time helping with the organizations’ missions and work. Ralph and the staff at WP are in the early stages of helping BTG develop a new brand identity and an initial look at a  creative campaign to increase donor-ship.

“Arts and culture are two strong economic drivers in the Berkshires, and that’s been the case for decades,” he said. “However, times are changing, and audiences are looking for new, diverse, exciting experiences in theater, music, and other performing arts. This is a time when being a part of a dynamic arts organization like BTG means that I can be a part of creating real change on stage, and offer some amazing performances to our community.”
