Just down the street from our offices stands an historic landmark – a building that was once the county’s courthouse and is one of nine buildings in Lenox, Mass. on the National Register of Historic Places.
Since 1856, the imposing brick building has served as the Lenox Library – a hub of the community providing resources, programs, and services aimed at enhancing the quality of life of Berkshire residents and visitors.
Nathan ‘Win’ Winstanley, Jr., Ph.D, 91, took advantage of everything the library had to offer during his residence in Lenox. That’s why his son, founder of Winstanley Partners Nate Winstanley, decided to urge friends and family to support the library in memory of his father who passed away in September.
Much of the library’s budget is made possible by donations, but like any community-based organization, the library welcomes supporters to volunteer. Help is needed with all kinds of tasks, from preparing arts and crafts projects for the Youth Department to data entry and circulation assistance.
Membership in the Friends of the Lenox Library Association is another option. Its primary focus is to enhance and promote the Lenox Library’s role in the community by raising funds and sponsoring programs in line with the library’s cultural, educational, and recreational role in the community.
