Presenting ‘floor-level’ demonstrations for DuPont Building Products
When attending a tradeshow for professional builders, who wants to raise their hand or stay after class to ask a question? As it turns out, practically no one.
With this in mind, Winstanley Partners staged a series of in-depth product demonstrations at JLC Live New England in conjunction with Parksite Inc., a building industry sales, marketing, and distribution company, designed to shake up the tradeshow model of centrally located presentations.
Using DuPont Building Products’ Tyvek ThermaWrap R5.0 as a featured material, sessions included how to install the product using various siding products, how to install a window while using the product, and how to properly flash protrusions, each conducted on the tradeshow floor rather than on a raised stage, separated from the crowds who are there to learn new techniques.
This aspect of the demonstrations made them different from others of its kind, and in many ways, more effective. Since the demonstration is in the booth close to the attendees, there is more interaction and conversation. In total, 10 live product demonstrations were held – five each day of the show.
JLC LIVE is an annual exhibition and conference for residential construction professionals held bi-coastally in New England and the Northwest. The New England show boasts more than 50,000 square feet of manufacturer exhibits and live education, seen by nearly 7,200 attendees.
